John Milton8 Whitney (Hananiah7, Hananiah6, Samuel5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Hananiah7 and Sarah (Beaman) Whitney, was born 21 Sep 1824, Winchendon, MA,[1] or Lowell, MA and died 3 Dec 1883, Mount Dora, FL.
He married, 3 Jan 1849, Ashburnham, MA, Mary Leavitt Beales, daughter of George L. and Nancy N. (-----) Beals.[2] She was born 21 Nov 1827,[3] Winchendon, MA, and died 14 May 1883, Winchendon, MA, aged 55 years 5 months 24 days, of chronic phthisis and general debility.[4]
He was born in Winchendon, MA, and for many years was a conductor on the Boston & Albany R.R. He went to Mount Dora, FL, for his health and died there. Mr. Whitney was a perfect gentleman, of genial disposition, tender in heart, full of sympathy toward others in trouble, and in Christian deportment and character always shone out brilliant and positive. He resided Springfield, MA.
