John Stewart⁸ Whitney (Nathaniel⁷, Nathaniel⁶, Samuel⁵, Nathaniel⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), son of Nathaniel⁷ and Sally (Stewart) Whitney, was born 12 Oct 1818, Marlboro, VT, and died 22 Feb 1880, Whitingham, VT [Pierce} or Marlboro, VT, aged 61 years of paralisses.^[1]

He "of Marlboro, VT" married firstly, 22 Mar 1843, Brattleboro, VT, Laura Warren of Brattleboro, VT.^[2]

He married secondly, 12 Jun 1850, Brattleboro, VT, Ann White,^[3] of Townshend, VT. She was born about 1824, VT, and died 23 Mar 1860.

He married thirdly, Jun or 11 Dec 1862, Halifax, VT, Hannah C. (Brackett) Barney,^[4] daughter of Joseph and Nancy E. (Payson) Brackett. She was born about 1830, Guilford, VT, and died after 1880. She had married firstly, 24 May 1846, Guilford, VT, Clark Barney.

He was a farmer. He resided Whitingham, VT.
