Jonas Ward⁷ Whitney (Abner⁶, Samuel⁵, William⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), son of Abner⁶ and Levina (Glazer) Whitney, was born 22 Apr 1780, Westminster, MA,^[1] and died 8 Jun 1826, Westminster, MA, aged 46 years.^[2]

He married, 27 May 1800, Westminster, MA, Phebe Rand,^[3] daughter of Zachariah and Jerusha (Sawyer) Rand. She was born 24 Nov 1781, Westminster, MA, and died 4 Dec 1835, Westminster, MA, aged 54 or 55 years.^[4]

He resided on the estate occupied by his father. He was a trusted and honored townsman, serving five years as selectman, and in other useful positions. He resided Westminster, MA.
