Jonathan W.7 Whitney (Luther6, Israel5, Elijah4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of Luther6 and Melinda (Wetherbee) Whitney, was born Nov 1819, Harvard, MA, and died 15 Aug 1878.

He married, 13 Dec 1840, Thompson, CT, Mercy R. Chase, "both of Worcester, Mass.",[1] daughter of Eli R. and Susan L. (-----) Chase. She was born 30 Jan 1822, Dartmouth, Bristol County, RI, and died 5 Jan 1899, Boston, MA, aged 77 years, of anaemia and marasmus.[2]

He was a blacksmith. He resided Springfield, OH, 74 Arcade, and 23 Humbolt Ave., Boston, MA.
