Joseph6 Whitney (Isaac5, Isaac4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Isaac5 Whitney and Mary (Crockett) Whitney, was born 26 Aug 1776, Gorham, ME,[1] and died 3 May 1870, Standish, ME, aged 93 of marasmus.[2] He is buried in the Dolloff Road Cemetery in Standish, ME.

He married, 2 Aug 1801, Gorham, ME, Mary Freeman,[3] perhaps daughter of Nathaniel and Mary (Chase) Freeman. If so, she was born 10 Jan 1778, Gorham, ME. She is buried in the Dolloff Road Cemetery in Standish, ME. Her tombstone inscription says she was born 24 Dec 1776, and died 24 Jul 1864.
