Joseph Whitney, parentage unknown but perhaps related to Thomas Whitney (1714-1796), born 29 Sep 1756,[1] died after 1820.[2]

  • 1800, Monie Hundred, Somerset Co., MD: Joseph Whitney, 1 male 26-45, 1 male under 10, 1 female over 45, 1 female 26-45, 1 female 10-16, 3 females under 10, 2 slaves.
  • 1810: not found.
  • 1820, 2nd District, Somerset Co., MD: Joseph Whitney, 1 male over 45, 1 male 18-25, 1 female over 45, 2 males 26-44, 1 male 16-25, 1 male slave over 45, 1 male slave 14-25, and 2 female slaces 0-13; 3 engaged in agriculture.
