Joseph⁷ Whitney (John⁶, John⁵, (poss.) Samuel⁴, John³, Benjamin², John¹), son of John⁶ and Lois (Wadsworth) Whitney, was born about 1794, Leeds, ME.

He married, 29 Mar 1812, Greene or Leeds, ME, Betsey Mains, daughter of John and Olive (Day) Mains. She was born 2 Feb 1797, Leeds, ME.
