Family:Whitney, Joshua (1777-1849)

Joshua⁶ Whitney (Joshua⁵, Joshua⁴, William³, Joshua², John¹), son of Joshua⁵ and Anna (Ashley) Whitney, was born 4 Jan 1777, Canaan, CT,^[1] and died 9 Apr 1849, Toledo, OH.

He married, 20 May 1798, Granville, MA, Eunice Clark.^[2] She was born 6 Jul 1773, and died 31 Dec 1838.

Soon after his marriage, with his father, Joshua, and his eldest brother, he engaged in the manufacture of iron, which was largely made into anchors, and also in mercantile business. After the death of his father he remained on the farm and cared for his mother. He resided Pittsfield, MA, and Toledo, OH.
