Lewis Smith6 Whitney (Timothy5, David4, Joseph3, John2, Henry1), son of Timothy5 and Anna (Wood) Whitney, was born 29 Aug. 1787, Norwalk, CT,[1] and died 30 Jul 1848, Norwalk, CT. aged 60 years.[2]
He married, 1 Jan 1811, Poundridge, NY, or Norwalk, CT, Sally Hall,[3] daughter of Enos and Sarah (Griswold) Hall. She was born 16 Feb 1790, Middletown, CT, and died 30 Jun 1861, Norwalk, CT.
Phoenix says the following:
- . . . a carpenter and cooper . . . . Having been left without a mother, when young, she lived, till her marriage, in the family of her uncle, Phineas Hill, in Danbury and Norwalk, Conn. They settled at Norwalk, and there died . . ., and were buried."

Maria Louisa Whitney, b. 29 May 1822, New York, NY; m. 31 May 1846, Norwalk, CT, William Chappell Adams "of Danbury".[6] v. Myra Emeline Whitney, b. 26 Jun 1826, Norwalk, CT; "of Norwalk" m. 1 Jun 1845, Norwalk, CT, George Gilbert Pennoyer "of Danbury".[7]
