Love4 Whitney (Mark3, Benjamin2, John1), daughter of (Mark3 and Tabitha (Mellen) Whitney, was baptized 26 Nov 1726 [sic], Hopkinton, MA,[1] born 21 Nov 1727 [sic], Hopkinton, MA.

She "of Framingham" married firstly, 2 Jan 1754, Framingham, MA, Jonathan Battle "of Dedham",[2] son of Jonathan and Elizabeth (Barber) Battle, by Rev. Solomon Reed. He was born 30 May 1724, Dedham, MA.

She married secondly, 1767, Barachias Mason "of Medfield", son of Thomas and Mary (Arnold) Mason. He was born 10 Jun 1723, Medfield, MA, and died in 1795.

Pierce says the following:[3]

LOVE [WHITNEY], bap. Hop. Nov 28,1726 [NOTE]; m. Jan 2, 1754, Jonathan BATTLE of Dedham. He was b. May 30, 1724. They had a son, Timothy, b. Sept 21, 1756. She (Love WHITNEY) m. 2d. 1767, Barrachias MASON (see Tilden's History of Medfield), b. 1723, d. 1795. They res. Medfield. He gr. at Harvard College in 1742; was a noted surveyor of lands and surveyed the town of Natick in 1778; taught school in Reading, 1747, also taught singing school; was selectman for five years and inholder. Ch.: Johnson, b. 1767, was captain of militia and rose to rank of lieutenant-colonel, and town clerk 19 years, also representative: Arnold, b. 1770. d. 1837. A son of Johnson was Dr. Lowell MASON, the celebrated musical composer, b. in Medfield in 1792, and also grandfather of Wm. MASON, also celebrated as an American musician and founder of the Mason and Hamlin Organ Mfg. Co. of Boston.

Child of Jonathan and Love4 (Whitney) Battle:

i. Timothy Battle, b. 21 Sep 1756, Dedham, MA.

Children of Barachias and Love4 (Whitney) Mason, both born Medfield, MA:

i. Johnson Mason, b. 7 Aug 1767; m. Catherine Hartshorne.
ii. Arnold Mason, b. 5 May 1770; d. 14 Sep 1837.
