Luke7 Whitney (William6, William5, William4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of William6 and Mary (Mansfield) Whitney, was born 21 May 1783, Winchendon, MA, and died 1 Sep 1838, Gardner, MA, aged 55 years.[1]

He married, 30 Jun 1806, Gardner, MA, Cynthia Partridge,[2] daughter of Jabez and Anna (Twitchell) Partridge. She was born 1 Dec 1785, Gardner, MA, and died 1 Jul 1860, Westminster, MA, aged 74 years, of palsy, widow.[3] She married secondly, 10 May 1847, Brattleboro, VT, Elisha Pierce (1772-1858), as his second wife. His first wife was Cynthia's sister Deborah. His son Elisha Pierce by his first wife married Luke and Cynthia's daughter Thuseba (see below).

He resided Gardner, MA.

Notes

The marriage record of Joel G. Watkins and Cynthia in 1863 gives her surname as "Watkins". The 1850 census shows Joel and Cynthia with a 7-year-old son George. George's birth record on 18 Aug 1843, Chester, VT, gives his parents as Joel and Cynthia Watkins, as does his death record on 8 Sep 1864, Andersonville Prison, GA.
