Family:Whitney, Luther (1817-1880)

Luther⁷ Whitney (Luther⁶, Daniel⁵, Daniel⁴, Jonathan³, Jonathan², John¹), son of Luther⁶ and Hannah (Whitney) Whitney, was born 8 Apr 1817, Fairfield, NY, and died 27 Jan 1880, or 30 Jan 1880, Toledo, OH.

He married firstly, 25 Sep 1836, Cleveland, OH, Louisa Amelia Wood, daughter of Twalda and Harriett (-----) Wood. She was born 23 Dec 1821, NY, and died 5 Aug 1855, LaPorte, IN.

He married secondly, 21 Apr 1857, Portage Co., OH, Elizabeth J. Cane/Caine. She was born about 1830, NY, and died after 1880.

Mr. Whitney was a prominent architect and builder in Ohio. At one time he was architect and superintendent of building for the Michigan Southern & Northern Indiana R. R. Co. He was a councilman of the City of Toledo from the second ward, and was successively vice-president and president of that body.

iii.	Clara Louise Whitney, b. 13 Jul 1853, La Porte, IN; m. after 1880, Erasmus D. Peck as his second wife.
iv.	Daisy Whitney, b. ca. 1865, OH; d. after 1880, then unmarried.
v.	Henrietta Whitney, b. ca. 1870, OH; d. after 1880, then unmarried.
