Lydia4 Whitney ([poss.] Joseph3, Jonathan2, John1), possibly daughter of Joseph3 and Rebecca (Burge) Whitney,[1] was born say 1721, place unknown,[2] and died 29 Feb 1794 [sic], Lancaster MA, in a Shaker community.[3]

She married, 17 Aug 1744, Concord, MA, Samuel Kinney/Kenney/Kenny "both of Dunstable",[4] son of Jonathan and Rebecca (Nurse) Kenny.[5] He was baptized 12 Jun 1720, Salem, MA,[6] and died before his wife. He was buried in the Shaker Burial Ground, Lancaster, MA.[7]

1.^  Her parentage is conjectural. The place of her marriage, her age, and the lack of a full record of her putative father's family suggest this placement. Supporting it are the names of her children.

K." buried in the Shaker Burial Ground, Lancaster, MA, as on p. 446.
