Martha⁵ Whitney (William⁴, Nathaniel³, John², John¹), daughter of William⁴ and Martha (Peirce)Whitney,^[1] was born 4 Apr 1716, Weston, MA,^[2] baptized 29 Dec 1734, Weston, MA, adult,^[3] and died 15 Apr 1801, Westminster, MA, aged 85 years.

Marriage intentions were published 26 Jan 1734 [1734/5], Weston, MA, for her "of Weston" and Timothy Mossman "of Sudbury".((ref|3}} She "of Weston" married, 26 Feb 1734/5, Sudbury, MA, Timothy Mossman "of Sudbury",^[4] son of Timothy and Sarah (Hicks) Mossman. He was born 5 Mar 1709, Dorchester, MA, and died 5 Sep 1801, Westminster, MA, aged 92 years. He was also known as Timothy Mosman, Mosseman, or Morsman.

Her fathers estate was probated 15 Aug 1720 at Weston, MA; Martha Whitney, widow, of Weston, was appointed guardian of the five minor children of William Whitney, her late husband, of Weston, vizt. William, in his 14th year, Judith, in her 12th year, Amity, in her 8th year, Martha, in her 5th year, and Samuel, in his 2nd year, and posted bond with Jacob Peirce, husbandman, of Weston, as surety.

At the time of the probate of the estate of father William Whitney in 1720, Martha Whitney, widow, was appointed guardian of the five minor children of her late husband, vizt. William, in his 14th year, Judith, in her 12th year, Amity, in her 8th year, Martha, in her 5th year, and Samuel, in his 2nd year, and posted bond with Jacob Pierce, husbandman, of Weston, as surety.

She was admitted to the church on 29 Dec 1734, Weston, MA, after being baptized on the same date.^[5]
