Moses5 Whitney (Abel4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Abel4 and Mary (Cane) Whitney, was born 17 Feb 1737/8, Wiscasset, ME,[1] and died before 1790, since his widow appears in the census of that year.

Marriage banns were published 28 Aug 1761, Falmouth, ME, for him "of Gorham T[own]" and his first wife Lois Crediford "of Falmouth". She was born circa 1740, probably Falmouth, ME, and perhaps died before 1766, probably Falmouth, ME. She was also known as Lois Cradiford. There is no known record of her death, but her husband remarried in 1766. It is possible that Moses never married Lois Crediford. Fornication charges have been extracted from the Cumberland Co. Commissioner's records. The following record appears: Lois Crediford, Gorham, singlewoman, 1-13-1766, daughter.

He married, secondly, 15 Jan 1766, Falmouth, ME, Priscilla Burnell,[2] daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Dodd Ball) Burnell, by the Rev. Dr. Deane. She was born 29 Nov 1747, Marblehead, MA.

It was probably she who married secondly, 15 Dec 1796, Gorham, ME, David Young "of Little Falls".[3]

He was also known as Moses Whitney Jr.

Moses5 and Lois (Crediford) Whitney had no children.

Children of Moses5 and Priscilla (Burnell) Whitney:

i. Zebulon6 Whitney, baptized 7 Dec 1766, Falmouth, ME.
ii. Nabby Whitney, b. 12 Apr 1777, Gorham, ME.[4] She was also known as Nabbe Whitney.
