Nathan7 Whitney (Nathan6, Nathan5, Nathan4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Nathan6 and Sarah (Cox) Whitney, was born 7 Oct 1796, Columbia, ME, and died between 1850 and 1860.
He married, 30 Nov 1825, Jonesboro, ME, Rebecca Weston7 Whitney, daughter of Joseph6 and Mary C. (Libby) Whitney, his first cousin. She was born 29 Sep 1807, Jonesboro, ME, and died 15 May 1901, Machias, ME.

i. Mary8 Whitney, b. 3 Sep 1826, Jonesboro, ME. She was probably the Mary Whitney who m. 16 Feb 1843, Machias, ME, Bartholmew D. Bryant. ii. Ezra Whitney, b. 16 Apr 1829, Jonesboro, ME; d. after 1860. iii. Nancy R. Whitney, b. Jun 1832, Washington Co., ME; d. after 1880, then unmarried. iv. Justania M. Whitney, b. ca. 1831, Washington Co., ME; d. after 1850. v. Francis N. W. Whitney, b. ca. 1838, Washington Co., ME, d. 2 Aug 1862, Helena, AR, a casualty of the Civil War. He is buried in Napoleon, AR. His mother received a pension from the U.S. government. vi. Euphemia D. Whitney, b. 2 May 1840, Machias, ME, d. 9 Nov 1918, Machias, ME; m. 2 Sep 1865, Jonesboro, ME, Stephen Hadley, b. 30 Jun 1837, Northfield, ME, d. 26 December 1906, Machias, ME. They had eight known children. Stephen was a Civil War veteran, and both he and Euphemia received a pension from the U.S. government. vii. Jarius H. Whitney, b. ca. 1841, prob. Machias, ME; d. after 1860. viii. Erastus O. Whitney, b. ca. 1846, prob. Machias, ME, d. 25 Aug 1864, Civil War. He enlisted as a private in Company B of the 11th Maine Infantry Regiment, 11 Aug 1862. He died of disease while serving in the same company. ix.
