Oliver Whitney, parentage unknown, was born about 1805, or 26 Aug 1808 (but see Notes below), NY or CT (see Notes), and died 1 Sep 1884, aged 76 years and 5 days. He was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Wales Center, NY.[1]
He never married.
He was apparently a farm laborer and farmer his entire life. In 1870 he owned real estate worth $1000 and personal property worth $4000.
Notes
The birth record above is calculated from his age at death on his gravestone. The census records have him born about 1805, 1805, 1803, 1805, 1805, and 1808. His birthplace is given as NY, (Monroe Co.,) NY, CT, NY, CT, and CT. His parents were born in CT according to the 1880 census. The 1855 census says he had lived in Monroe Co., NY, 50 years, his whole life.
