Philip7 Whitney (Peter6, Ebenezer5, Samuel4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Peter6 and Margaret (Haynes) Whitney, was born about 1820, York, ON, and died 2 Nov 1896, Reach, ON, aged 78 years, of old age and heart failure, laborer.[1]

He married, 26 Feb 1843, Home Township, ON, Mary Veitch.[2] She was born about 1821, Kilkenney, Ireland, and died after 1881.

They farmed in Reach Township, Ontario North County, ON.

In 1861 Philip lived at Lot 4. Con. 8. Reach (info from census), and in 1877 Lot 20, Con. 10, Reach Twp. (Info from Atlas).

Anglican Church Uxbridge Baptismal Records: Philip Whitney (wife Mary) - Con. 11 Reach. Children baptized 14 Oct 1874: John - 24 year, Alexander - 17 years, Peter - 19 years, Hamilton - 18 years, Robert - 16 years, Mary - 12 years, Walter - 9 years.

iii. William Whitney, b. 17 Dec 1847, Reach, ON; d. 6 Mar 1934, Uxbridge, ON, aged 86 years 1 month 20 days, of arteriosclerosis;[5] unmarried; res. 7th Concession, Uxbridge, ON.
iv. John Whitney, b. ca. 1852, ON; m.(1) Louisa Adeline O'Neil; m.(2) Sophie Weir.
v. Peter Whitney, b. 15 Oct 1855, Reach, ON; m. Rebecca Asling.
vi. Alexander Whitney, b. 4 Nov 1856, or Oct 1854, Reach, ON; m. Caroline Reynolds.
vii. Hamilton Whitney, b. ca. 1857, ON; m. Harriet Hillson.
viii. Robert Whitney, b. 20 Dec 1858, ON; d. 19 Nov 1940; m. Martha Madeline Stopps.
