Russell⁷ Whitney (Cornelius⁶, Cornelius⁵, Matthias⁴, Cornelius³, Joshua², John¹), son of Cornelius⁶ and Rhoda (Gould) Whitney, was born 23 Mar 1828, and died 16 Feb 1893, Clay, IA.

He married, before 1862, Emily Allen, daughter of Hiram and Roxanna (Bennett) Allen. She was born Dec 1831, NY, and died after 1900.

She survived him, and resided in Newell, IA.
