Samuel6 Whitney (Benjamin5, Benjamin4, Joseph3, John2, John1), son of Benjamin5 and Rebecca (-----) Whitney, was born 7 Apr 1742, Watertown, MA,[1] was baptized 25 Apr 1742, Watertown, MA,[2] and died 29 Jun 1834, Westminster, MA, aged 91 years 2 months.[3]

He married firstly, 24 Nov 1762, Worcester, MA, Mary White, of Newton, MA.[4] She died probably in Templeton, MA.

Intentions of marriage were published 12 May 1804, Templeton, MA, for him and Sarah Smith "of Barre".[5] He married secondly, Barre, MA, "Mrs." Sarah Smith.[6] She died 14 Dec 1807, Templeton, MA.[7] She may have been Sarah (Jennison) Smith, daughter of Nathaniel and Abigail (Mead) Jennison, and widow of Nathaniel Smith of Barre (c1723-1792), born 21 Apr 1737, Weston, MA.

Intentions of marriage were published 1 Oct 1812, Templeton, MA, for him and Hannah Wetherbee "of Westminster".[8] Marriage intentions were published 27 Oct 1812, Westminster, MA, for him "of Templeton" and "Mrs." Hannah Wetherby.[9] He married thirdly, 11 Oct 1812, Westminster, MA, Hannah (Woodward) Wetherbee, daughter of John and Mary (Spaulding) Woodward, and widow of Ephraim Wetherbee. She was born 17 Apr 1749, Westminster, MA, and died 12 Dec 1832, Westminster, MA, aged 83 years.[10]

According to the History of Westminster Samuel went from Worcester. He made his will and it was probated 9 Dec 1834, and allowed 17 Nov 1835. In it he mentions his wife Hannah, her daughter Hannah Wetherbee, son Moses, daughter Patty Bowker and daughter Molly West. Mr. Spaulding was executor. He resided Worcester, Templeton, and Westminster, Massachusetts.

ii. Moses Whitney, b. 2 Jul 1764, Worcester, MA;[12] d. 26 Aug 1837, Templeton, MA, aged 73 years.[13]
iii. Martha "Patty" Whitney, b. 18 Nov 1765 or 29 Dec 1765, Worcester, MA;[14] m. 17 Aug 1791, Petersham, MA, Jotham Bowker, both of Petersham, MA.[15]
iv. Abijah Whitney, b. 1 Jul 1769, Worcester, MA;[16] d. 1796, Templeton, MA, unmarried; his will is dated 2 Apr 1796.
v. Molly Whitney, b. 14 Apr 1772, Worcester, MA;[17] m. (int. 28 Sep 1795, Petersham, MA[18]), 20 Apr 1795, Templeton, MA, John West, both "of Petersham".[19]

Samuel6 and Sarah (Smith) Whitney had no children.

Samuel6 and Hannah (Woodward)(Wetherbee) Whitney had no children.
