Nothing is known of his wife.
13 June 1815—Bill Johnson, a boy of color aged 13 years, bound to Samuel Whitney as a blacksmith.[1]
Possible children of Samuel Whitney, based on a census reconstruction, possibly incomplete:
i. (son) Whitney, b. 1806-1824, probably NC. ii. (son) Whitney, b. 1806-1824, probably NC. iii. (son) Whitney, b. 1806-1824, probably NC. iv. (son) Whitney, b. 1806-1824, probably NC.

Was one of his sons perhaps Harry Whitney of New Bern, Craven Co., SC?
