Samuel Whitney parentage unknown, was born about 1786, CT, or about 1791, MA, and died between 1860 and 1870. In 1865, his wife is called "married", not "widowed", but he is not found.
Apparently he married firstly, before 1830, ----- -----, who is deduced from the death record of their daughter.
Marriage intentions were published 15 May 1837, Brimfield, MA, for him and "Mrs." Anna L. Amsden "of Petersham".[1] He "Jr." married, apparently secondly, 13 Jun 1837, Petersham, MA, Anna Larned (Peckham) Amsden,[2] daughter of Ellis and Mehitable (Learned) Peckham. She was born 4 Mar 1793, Petersham, MA,[3] and died 17 Dec 1875, Petersham, MA, aged 82 years 9 months 12 days, of old age.[4] She had married firstly, 7 Jul 1814, Petersham, MA,[5] Daniel H. Amsden, who died 6 Jul 1821, Petersham, MA, aged 28 years.[6]

Samuel and Anna Larned (Peckham)(Amsden) Whitney probably had no children.
