Samuel Whitney, parentage unknown, was born say 1775, and died after 4 Feb 1817, when living in Readfield, ME.
He married, 20 Feb 1813, Readfield, ME, Anna Lake,[1] daughter of Ebenezer and Sarah (Merrill) Lake. She was born about 1780, New Gloucester, ME, and died after 4 Feb 1817.[2]
"On 4 Feb. 1817 Samuel Whitney of Readfield, yeoman, and wife Anna; John Walker of Pejepscot, yeoman, and wife Jane; John Stinchfield of Pejepscot, yeoman, and wife Sarah; Simeon Wilbour of New Gloucester, yeoman, and wife Elizabeth; and John Lake of Jay, yeoman, sold half a lot in New Gloucester to Joseph Thrasher."[3]
She was a "Mayflower" descendant in the following line:

- Benjamin2 Eaton, m. Sarah Hoskins
- Ebenezer3 Eaton, m. Hannah Rickard
- Mercy4 Eaton, m.(1) Benjamin Lake
- Ebenezer Lake, m. Sarah Merrill
- Anna Lake, m. Samuel Whitney
Samuel and Anna (Lake) Whitney had no known children.
