Samuel Brown8 Whitney (Alanson7, Samuel6, David5, Matthias4, Cornelius3, Joshua2, John1), son of Alanson7 Delaney (Young) Whitney, was born 1 Dec 1869, Bremer Co., IA, and died 12 May 1958, Waverly, IA.

He married, 11 Dec 1890, Allison, IA, Mary Arabella "Mamie" Richards. She was born Dec 1868, IL.

At the time of the 1895 Iowa state census, Samuel, Mary and their children Robert and Mary were living in Repley, Butler Co, IA. By 1900 they have moved to Shell Rock Twp., Butler Co, where Samuel is farming. Before 1920 they purchased a farm in Lafayette Twp., Bremer Co, IA. 1930 all of the children have left home. Sam B. and Mary A. Whitney are living in Lafayette, Bremer Co, IA.
