Thomas Alonzo⁶ Whitney (Thomas⁵, Richard⁵, Richard⁴, Henry³, John², Henry¹), son of Thomas⁵ and Temperance Kennedy (Davis) Whitney, was born 9 Nov 1814, Westmoreland, NY, and died after 1892.

He married, 3 Sep 1863, Chautauqua, NY, Delilah Wilcox, daughter of Samuel and Mary (Covey) Wilcox. She was born 6 Dec 1835, Chautauqua, NY, and died after 1880, before 1892.

They settled in Chautauqua, six and a half miles south of Mayville; and were living there in Apr 1874.
