Thomas Francis8 Whitney (Leonard7, Ezekiel6, Ezekiel5, John4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of Leonard7 and Ruth Richardson (Larrabee) Whitney, was born 1 Sep 1823,[1] Sudbury, MA, and died 13 Jan 1898, Watertown, MA, aged 75 years 3 months 13 days, of chronic cystitis.[2]

He married firstly, 9 Mar 1846, Watertown, MA, Eunice P. Bates.[3] She was born about Feb 1825, Waterville or Fairfield, ME, and died 23 Jan 1859, Watertown, MA, aged 33 years 11 months, of consumption.[4]

He "sailmaker" married secondly, 6 Oct 1859, Watertown, MA, Cynthia Brown, of Newton.[5] She was born about 1831, Sterling or Newton, MA.

i. Sarah L. B.9 Whitney, b. ca. 19 Jan 1847, Watertown, MA; d. 18 Apr 1907, Millbury, MA, aged 60 years 2 months 29 days, of cancer of the liver;[6] m. 1 Jul 1880, Waltham or Watertown, MA, Elmore Alexander, b. ca. 1850, Harvard, MA, son of Nathaniel and Lydia N. (-----) Alexander.[7]
ii. Clarence F. Whitney, b. 19 Mar 1854, Watertown, MA;[8] d. 10 Jul 1863, Watertown, MA, aged 8 years, of lung fever.[9]
iii. Austineller Whitney or Ostereller Whitney, b. 23 Mar 1856, Watertown, MA;[10] d. 1 Jul 1861, Watertown, MA, aged 4 years 10 months 11 days, of lung fever.[11]
