Thomas Otway⁷ Whitney (Peter⁶, Ebenezer⁵, Samuel⁴, John³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Peter⁶ and Margaret (Haynes) Whitney, was born about 1809, York Co., ON, and died 27 April 1894, King Township, ON.

He married firstly, about 1842, Sophia Cuver. She died 8 Mar 1851.

He married secondly, 18 Dec 1853, Matilda Ada. She was born about 1821, Ireland, and died after 1881.
