Thomas R.7 Whitney (Thomas Grace6, Samuel5, Samuel4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Thomas Grace6 and Sarah (Beal) Whitney, was born about 1805, Bath, ME,[1] and died 5 Mar 1881, aged 74, Gardiner, ME.[2]

He married firstly, Harriett Waite. She was born Sydney, ME, and died between 1839 and 1845.

He married secondly, 9 Oct 1845, Hallowell, ME, Emeline Wilson Wyman "both of Sidney",[3] daughter of Levi and Paulina (Bean) Wyman. She was born 28 May 1821, Sidney, ME, and died 1906.

He resided ME.

iv. Martha Whitney, b. ca. 1835, ME. She may be the Martha Whitney who m. 24 Dec 1853, Farmingdale, ME, Abraham Holland.[5]
v. James A. Whitney, b. 11 Apr 1840, Gardiner, ME; m. Elisa A. Sanborn.

viii. Francis E. Whitney, b. 25 Dec 1849, ME; unmarried.
ix. Catherine Whitney, b. 5 Jul 1851, ME; m. 3 Nov 1879, Boston, MA, George Cassius Swift, b. ca. 1849, Roxbury, MA, son of Francis and Abby (-----) Swift;[8] resided 641 Huntington St., Boston, MA.
x. Thomas Whitney, b. say 1853. Does not appear in census records.
xi. Alice Pauline Whitney, b. 5 or 18 Jul 1855 (twin), Gardiner or Farmingdale, ME;[9] d. 15 Jul 1903, Boston, MA, aged 47 years 11 months 28 days, of acute delerious mania;[10] m. 25 Apr 1881, Boston, MA, Herbert Dexter Cogswell.[11]
