1.^ He was perhaps the same as William, second son of Robert and Elizabeth (verch Morgan ap William) Whitney, who was born around 1530. The ages of the two Williams are roughly the same. William of Isleworth named children Robert, Elizabeth, and Nicholas, the names of William of Castleton's parents and oldest brother. William of Isleworth lived in the same parish as two of the children (Margaret and John) of Thomas Whitney, Gent. of Westminster.
