Family:Whitney, William (1819-1865)

William⁷ Whitney (William⁶, Elijah⁵, John⁴, William³, Joshua², John¹), son of William⁶ and Prudence (Brown) Whitney, was born 6 Jun 1819, Norwich, VT, and died 29 Oct 1865, Union Grove, IL.

He married, 20 Jan 1841, Blandford, MA, or 15 or 18 Jan 1841, Springfield, MA, Sophronia Lucy Knox,^[1] daughter of Samuel and Charlotte (Noble) Knox. She was born 17 Jul 1822, Blandford, MA, and died 30 Oct 1896, Boston, MA, aged 75 years 3 months 3 days, of cancer of uterus, peritoneum, and other viscera, resided 64 Lambert Avenue.^[2] They may have been divorced, since they were living separately.

He probably married secondly, between 1860 and 1865, Elizabeth -----. She was born about 1832, Montpelier, VT, and died after 1865.

She resided Granville, Massachusetts, care E. Noble. He resided Woburn, MA.

ii.	Emma Sophronia8 Whitney, b. 14 Oct 1850, Boston, MA;[3] d. 22 May 1877, Boston, MA, aged 26 years 9 months, of solidification of lung and tuberculosis;[4] m. 3 Jan 1875, Boston, MA, Everard I. Drisko, b. ca. 1854, Belfast, ME, son of George W. and Mary L. (-----) Drisko.[5] The mother is buried with her father. Children: a. Ethel Whitney Drisko, b. ca. 1876, NY; d. aft. 1880.
iii.	Willie Dale Whitney, b. -----; d. infancy.
