William Augustus⁸ Whitney (George Lewis⁷, John⁶ and Statira (Farrell) Whitney, John⁵, John⁴, Richard³, John², Henry¹), son of George Lewis⁷ and Lucinda Barlow (Williams) Whitney, was born 23 Feb 1834, Detroit, MI, and died 1906. He was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua, NY.^[1]

He married, Emma J. Roach, daughter of John C. and Phebe (-----) Roach. She was born about 1834, Kings Co., NY, and died 26 May 1908, Canandaigua, NY. She was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua, NY.^[2]

He was a printer; has lived at Honolulu, Sandwich Islands, for one year; was in the Union army for three years, in the war of 1861, in the 1st Regiment of California Volunteers; and lived in Schermerhorn Street, Brooklyn, NY, in July 1875.
