William H. Whitney (George W. H., Samuel) son of George W. H. and Mary Jane (Carr) Whitney, was born 25 Jun 1862, Adams, MA, and died before 1894.

He married, 4 Jun 1885, Springfield, MA, Claudie M. Appleton, daughter of Henry and Almira/Elmira F. (Garland) Appleton.[1] She was born about 1864, Chicopee, MA, or Ellsworth, ME, and died after 1900. She married secondly, 11 Oct 1894, Providence, RI [recorded at Springfield, MA], George Williams, son of James M. and Louisa (Tuerk) Williams, b. ca. 1863, Albany, NY.[2]

Children of William H. and Claudie M. (Appleton) Whitney:

i. Harold Leroy Whitney, b. 24 Jun 1887, Springfield, MA;[3] d. aft. 1900.
ii. Raymond E. Whitney, b. 6 Mar 1889, Springfield, MA;[4] d. 18 Jul 1889, Hatfield, MA, aged 4 months 7 days, of convulsions.[5]
