Winthrop Jordan Whitney (Erastus Foote, George), son of Erastus Foote and Caroline Rhynes (Sterling) Whitney, was born 24 Jul 1865, Friendship or Monhegan, ME, and died 2 Jul 1943.

He married, about 1888, Lavinia G. Jameson, daughter of Francis Gracia and Ruby Ann (Thompson) Jameson. She was 28 Dec 1869, Friendship, ME, and died 8 Dec 1961, Thomaston, ME.[1]

i. Gertrude Mabel Whitney, b. 3 Jun 1889, Friendship, ME; m. 16 Oct 1909, Friendship, ME [recorded at Somerville, MA], Rodney Dean Feyler, b. ca. 1888, Thomaston, ME, son of Eben O. and Lillie (Young) Feyler.[2]
ii. Sumner Prince Whitney, b. 28 Oct 1891 Friendship, ME; d. 15 Jan 1981, Friendship, ME; m. 25 Sep 1919, Friendship, ME, Madeline Burris (1894–1978).
iii. Leona Whitney, b. 19 Sep 1893, Friendship, ME; d. 12 Oct 1992, Thomaston, ME; m. 11 Oct 1919, Friendship, ME, Charles Maynard Starrett, b. 25 Apr 1886, Cushing, ME, son of George N. and Nettie A. (Robinson) Starrett.[3]
iv. Bion E. Whitney, b. 11 Mar 1896, Friendship, ME; d. aft. 1910.
