Zachariah6 Whitney (Zachariah5, John4, Joseph3, John2, John1), son of Zachariah5 and Sarah (Boynton) Whitney,[1] was born 11 Jan 1747, Lunenburg, MA,[2] and died 9 Apr 1828, Lunenburg, MA, aged 81 years.[3]
Marriage intentions were published, 23 Apr 1774, Fitchburg, MA, for him "of Fitchburg" and Elizabeth Wetherbee "of Harvard".[4] He married, 18 Aug 1774, Fitchburg, MA, Elizabeth Wetherbee "of Harvard",[5] daughter of John and Sarah (Brown) Wetherbee. She was born 9 Apr 1753, Harvard, MA, and died said 1799, Harvard, MA.
He made his will 28 Jul 1827. It was probated 20 May 1828. In it he gives legacies to his grandsons, Joseph H. and Josiah B. Whitney, and Levina Eaton, widow of John Eaton, of Ashby, MA; children of his son Zachariah W., deceased; dau. Lydia Hastings, wife of Naaman Hastings; gr. dau., Betsey Stevens; daus., Betsey Marshall, Sally Watkins, Hannah Billings. John Turner was executor. He resided Lunenburg, MA.
