Mr. Zechariah Whitney was chosen to take care of deer, Mar. 2, 1746/7; constable, Mar. 4, 1750/1; surveyor of highways, Mar. 6, 1757; fence viewer, Mar. 3, 1760; and surveyor of highways, Mar. 2, 1761.[3]
In 1771, "Zacriah Whitne" was listed in Fitchburg, MA with 1 poll ratable. Items taxed: 1 house, £6 annual worth of real estate, no horses, 2 oxen, 1 head of cattle, no goats or sheep, no swine, 4 acres of pasture supporting 3 cows, 2 acres of tillage producing 20 bushels per year of grain and no barrels of cider, 2 acres of mowing land producing 1 ton of hay per year.
