William Widney, parentage unknown, was born about 1798, said 18 Apr 1798, Burnt Cabins, Fulton Co., PA, died 15 Sep 1865, Concord, PA, and buried Concord Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery, Concord, PA.

He married, 7 Nov 1826, Concord, PA, Martha Linn, daughter of John and Jane (Van Scyoc) Linn, and granddaughter of Hugh and Sarah¹ (Widney) Linn. She was born 28 Nov 1805, Burnt Cabins, Fulton Co., PA, died 20 Jul 1888, Concord, PA, and buried Concord Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery, Concord, PA.

Notes

He was almost certainly a close relative of Alexander Widney (b1784-1831), of Fannett Township, Franklin Co., PA. Similarly for James Widney (c1720-1770), whose children were of the same place. He could be a son of William Widney (b1755-a1800), of Fannet and Hamilton Townships, Franklin Co., PA.

It is stated in the Ancestry World Tree that he was a son of Charles¹ and Mary Dolly (Henderson) Whitney, but he seems not to be in that family in the 1800 and 1810 censuses.
