Abijah Fitch⁸ Whitney (Charles Fitch⁷, Thomas⁶, Benjamin⁵, Joseph⁴, Joseph³, Jonathan², John¹), son of Charles Fitch⁷ and Louisa (Kemp) Whitney, was born 28 Feb 1840, Tunbridge, VT.

He married, 7 Dec 1865, Plainfield, VT, Rosette L. Smith or Rose A. Smith, daughter of Eliphalet and Sarah (-----) Smith.^[1] She was born 1845.

He is in the lumber business; resided Morrisville, VT.

i.	Lillian Jane9 Whitney, b. 30 May 1870.
ii.	Gertrude May Whitney, b. 27 Oct 1878.
