Benjamin4 Whitney (Benjamin3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Benjamin3 and Esther (-----)(Maverick) Whitney[1], was born 22 May 1709, Sherborn, MA,[2] and died 28 Feb 1797.[3]

Benjamin "of Framingham" married, 21 or 24 Feb 1731/2, Watertown, MA, Margaret Sanderson "of Watertown",[4] daughter of Deacon Jonathan and Abigail (Fiske) Sanderson.[5] She was born 9 Sep 1704, Watertown, MA.[6]

On 12 Aug 1734 he was bondsman for his aunt Huldah (Whitney) Morse as administratrix of the estate of her husband Zachariah Morse.[7]

Children of Benjamin4 and Margaret (Sanderson) Whitney, all born Framingham, MA:

i. Jonathan5 Whitney, b. 25 Sep 1734;[8] m. Eunice Marshall.
ii. Persis Whitney, b. 20 Aug 1739;[9] m. Joseph Lesuer.
iii. Amos Whitney, b. 27 Sep 1746.[10]

There were probably 10 additional children.[11]

  • 1790: not found. A possibility is 1790, Southwick, Hampshire Co., MA: Benjamin Whitney, 1 male over 16 and 2 females. He is on the same page as Jonathan Whitney, also otherwise unidentified, who might be his son.
