Isaiah3 Whitney (Thomas2, John1), son of Thomas2 and Mary (Kedell) Whitney,[1] was born 16 Sep 1671, Watertown, MA,[2] and died 1 Jan 1711/2, Cambridge, MA.[3]

He married about 1695,[4] Sarah (Woodward) Eddy, daughter of George and Elizabeth (Hammond) Woodward. She was born Oct. 3, 1675, Watertown, MA, and died after 1715, when she was living in Lexington, MA.[5]

Sarah Woodward had married firstly, July 6, 1693, Watertown, MA, John Eddy,[6] son of Samuel and Sarah (Meade) Eddy. He was born ca. 1666, and died 26 Jul 1694, Watertown, MA.[7] Administration on his estate was granted to his widow Sarah on 22 Oct 1694.[8]

"They owned the Covenant at Lexington in 1698, when one of their children, probably the first, was baptized."[9]

On 4 May 1699 they owned the Covenant in Lexington, MA.[10]

"The witnesses to his will were Samuel WHITNEY, John MASON, Eliza and Martha FOXCRAFT."[11]

John and Sarah (Woodward) Eddy had no children.

vi. Elijah Whitney, b. 2 Aug 1707, Lexington, MA;[18] m.(1) Mercy Heald; m.(2) Rebecca (Winship) Whitney.
vii. Abraham Whitney, bapt. 19 Feb 1710, Lexington, MA;[19] m. Sarah5 Whitney.
viii. Jonas Whitney, b. 27 Feb 1711, Lexington, MA;[20] bapt. 25 Sep 1711, Lexington, MA [sic];[21] no further record. Pierce confuses him with another man of the same name.
