Family:Whitney, Mary (s1570?-?)
Mary Whitney, (George, Robert, James, Robert, Eustace, Robert, Robert, Robert, Eustace, Eustace, Robert, ...), daughter of George and Julian (-----) Whitney of Icombe,[1] born say 1570?[2]
She married Thomas Mills "of the Star Chamber".[3]
They may be the Thomas and Mary Mills whose son John Mills was christened 8 Jul 1587, St. Dunstan's Stepney, Middlesex.[4]
Could he be the Thomas Mylls who was christened -- Dec 1541, St. Margaret's Westminster, Middlesex?[5]
Thomas and Mary apparently sued her cousin Eustace Whitney, then head of the Whitneys of Whitney. "The Chancery proceedings in Elizabeth's reign include Thomas Mill and Mary his wife v. Eustace Whitney, Esq., and William Whitney, gent., for specific performance of a devise of lands under the will of Sir James Whitney and of the manors of Whitney, Pencomb and Icomb."[6]
Thomas Mills was listed as an attorney with The Court of Star Chamber ca. 1592.[7]
Children of Thomas and Mary (Whitney) Mills:
i. William Mills,[8] "a printice of London in Mark Layn".[9] ii. Richard Mills.[10] iii. Thomas Mills.[11]
