My name is Mary Elizabeth Danforth. I came here to trace my mother Dorothy Emily ( Whitney ) Locke's geneology. She died when I was six and I know nothing about her side of the family. She was born in Danvers, Massachusetts in 1916. and died in 1944 in Laconia, NH. I know she had a brother Francis C. Whitney and may have had a sister Ruth. She married my father Julian Fitzsimmons Locke around 1935-36 I think, and lived in Laconia NH. That's about all I know of her. As most Whitney's in the USA are decendent's of John and Elinor Whitney I have come to start there. I don't know who my earliest ancestor was so I have to work down from John and Elinor. Hopefully I will be directed in the right direction here.

I was born in Laconia NH and now live in Tennesse. I am 70 so I have some work to do in a hurry. I would like my children and grandchildren to know where they come from.
