Robinson's Castles
Adrian,
I see that you've transcribed Robinson's A History of the Castles of Herefordshire and Their Lords, at Archive:A History of the Castles of Herefordshire and Their Lords. This had previously been transcribed and posted at Archive:Castles of Herefordshire. Clearly we don't need to have both pages on this web site.
If you wish, I can integrate the two versions (they are not quite identical), and delete one. Let me know if you agree to this, disagree with it, or if you intend to do the job yourself.

Hello
Hello Adrian,
Thank you for my welcome message! I'm still finding my way around at the moment!
My main interest on this website will be anything related to Frances HOW nee RODD, daughter of Robert RODD of Foxley. I found a very knowledgable gentleman, Michael Faraday, who has done a great deal of work on the RODD line. As with most lines there is conflicting information! The most amusing fact that came out of this line of research is that it looks like Thomas NEALE gave Alexander HOW a job at the Royal Mint, and Thomas NEALEs successor was Sir Isaac Newton!
Regards, Suzanne
Michael Faraday
Hello Adrian,
I'm very happy to be corrected! One of the reasons I'm here is to make sure that I find out the definitive Whitney line, and correct any mistakes. Michael and I corresponded a few months ago. I'm hoping that I can pass some new information back to him one day!
Regards, Suzanne
Francis
Excellent find on Francis! Not only does it suggest that Francis was from Herefordshire, but it also lets us know that he was with Bacon when Bacon was at Holborn.

2nd Whitney Connection
Hello Adrian, I have added a second Whitney connection to my homepage after some recent research. I have also done a few diagrams. I would appreciate some feedback on them, whenever you are not very busy :) Thanks! Cheers, Suzanne (SMWOOD)
Humphrey
He is probably the same Humphrey listed in the last paragraph on Family:Whitney, Thomas (s1500-1558) and probably a relative.

Re: Blanche Milborne and her niece Blanche Parry & Queen Elizabeth I
My interest is in Blanche Milborne, who married first as Blanche Whitney and then married, secondly, as Blanche Herbert Lady Troy (see Wikipedia). If you are interested, see the book: 'Blanche Parry Queen Elizabeth I's Confidante' which has a section all about Lady Troy (who was Blanche Parry's aunt) and who brought up Queen Elizabeth I and her brother King Edward VI. See: www.blancheparry.com

title: 'Blanche Parry & Queen Elizabeth I'
This calendar to treasure commemorates the Diamond Jubilee of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II, 2012. Through the generosity of the Queen it includes the gorgeous portrait of Princess Elizabeth, c.1546, in her red and gold dress. The Marquess of Salisbury generously allowed the Rainbow portrait of Queen Elizabeth I, the portrait of Lord Burghley (Blanche's cousin) and a photograph of Hatfield Old Palace to be used. The other pictures show: Blanche Parry's St. Margaret's Church (Westminster) tomb, her Bacton monument, Queen Elizabeth I's Presence Chamber, the frontispiece of the 1588 Welsh Bible, Llangorse Lake + 1584 map, the site of Newcourt + drawing of the house, Bacton Church and Dore Abbey. We are most grateful to all the picture owners. Apart from printing and wrapping expenses, everyone involved has been a volunteer. Each picture has a detailed explanatory paragraph describing the picture's relevance. The front and back covers of the calendar, plus details of all the pictures, can be seen on www.blancheparry.com
All proceeds from this calendar will benefit Bacton Church, Herefordshire, UK, where Blanche worshipped as a girl and where her family are buried. It is the Church where Lady Troy became Godmother to Blanche Parry. The calendar is a strictly limited edition, with superb pictures, and cannot be repeated. The calendar can be bought through amazon.uk. This calendar really is recommended. Thank you.
Hello Cousin! Where to begin??!
Hello and very nice to meet you (virtually) Adrian!
I share John and his father Thomas with your lineage.
I have been researching since, about 2000 on various lines and Whitney (Grosvenor)was revealed to me by 2nd cousins, found on Ancestry and Rootsweb message boards, back mid 2000´s.
Not giving up, ever... but at times... having to slow down, due to busy schedules... I was back, with a vengance last year! lol!
As I have been attempting to clear diverse "holes" in my various branches and in my public trees and more... I am now a tree holding member of WeAreAllRelated.com GENI, ancestry, rootsweb, my heritage and co. (which is not a bad thing... not taking all of their information for hard facts is a good instict... but it can point one, in some interesting research directions, at times. (my Grosvenor Branch for example is directly related to the 2x Great Grandfather of John Adams 2nd President of the USA is my 3rd cousin 5x removed. Ss well as more or less further relationsiops found to ALL ... yes. ALL of the Presidents of the USA, among others.)
I would be quite excited to share any and all informations, I have discovered (and leads) with you, in exchange for some of your most exciting developments, regarding our Whitney line. ie. if anyone finds Sir Thomas´ parentage. Or have you achieved this already.
I have also, in these years of reSEARCHing... had correspondence with Gentleman Daryl Lundy from the Peerage.
In the meantime, I´ve discovered relationship paths to most of the Royal Houses of the World and can also, be connected to the House of Savoy! (which I thought was so exciting to see, for your Mom and yourself! Congratulations!)
etc etc. well, I don´t want to fill up your "talk" wall... I do, wish further contact, per email in future, if you´d like. Walker2021 at yahoo dot com
Wishing you and yours a Fantastic Weekend!
