Welcome!
Hello Shirley, and welcome to the WRG website!
I see that you've entered your lineage on your user page - thank you. I took a look and found your father Clinton Russell Whitney, son of Everett W. and Gladys M. (-----) Whitney, listed in the 1930 census in Reading, MA. Following back, I found Everett W. Whitney, son of James E. and Carrie F. (Johnson) Whitney in the 1920, 1910, and then 1900 census records in Reading, Medford, and Boston, MA respectively. In the 1900 census, James E. Whitney's full birth date is listed - Nov. 7, 1875. This exactly matches up to James Evander Whitney, b. 7 Nov 1875, son of Charles Oreson10 and Rhoda Ann (Perry) Whitney.
This lineage looks to me to be correct, but it is significantly different from the lineage you entered. Can you explain how you found the lineage you entered? We want to make sure we get the right one!
Thank you!

Follow-Up
Shirley,
I found the birth record of James Evander Whitney on 7 Nov 1875, Quincy, MA, son of Charles O. and Rhoda Whitney. Then I found his marriage, with the same parents named, to Carrie F. Johnson, 24 Jan 1900, Boston, MA. Then I found the birth of their son Everett Walker Whitney, 19 July 1902, Boston, MA. This solidifies what Tim Doyle has found. I also found Charles O. Whitney in the 1881 census of Clyde River, Shelburne Co., Nova Scotia, with wife Rhoda, and sons James E. (5, b. USA) and Charles R. (2, b. NS).
I hope this helps.
