Wade Hamp Whitney (John, Wade H., Joseph), son of John, and Elinder (-----) Whitney, was born Missouri, and died after 1920, probably in Red River Co., TX.

He married, 26 Dec 1880, Nannie Fletcher.

They lived Red River Co., TX.

v. Maggie Whitney, b. 1 Feb 1897, d. 8 Oct 1986, m. Java S. Westbrook.

Notes

Spent time in the Texas state penitentiary at Huntsville from 14 June 1895 to 26 Feb 1898. Sentenced for altering the mark on ten head of hogs with intent to defraud.

13 May 1917, Hamp Whitney (a one-armed man) was shot. The Paris (TX) Morning News [Newspapers.com] He apparently survives. He is found widowed in the 1920 census.
