Welcome to the Whitney Research Group website! I see that you've been searching for your Whitney line for some time now (I see a query from you from back in 1997!)

I did a quick search and I think I may have a lead. Take a look at the family of [[Family:Whitney, Joel (1743-1791)|Joel and Mary (Weston) Whitney]]. They had a son Reuben Whitney and your Harriet had a son named Ruben Whitney Reed. Joel's son [[Family:Whitney, Paul (1785-1841)|Paul]] later resided in Calais, ME, as did your Harriet. I suspect that your Harry D. Whitney was a grandson of Joel & Mary, and there are several unidentified children. I have to run, but I'll take another look at this tomorrow.

Ken:

Welcome to the Whitney Research Group website! I see that you've been searching for your Whitney line for some time now (I see a query from you from back in 1997!)

I did a quick search and I think I may have a lead. Take a look at the family of Joel and Mary (Weston) Whitney. They had a son Reuben Whitney and your Harriet had a son named Ruben Whitney Reed. Joel's son Paul later resided in Calais, ME, as did your Harriet. I suspect that your Harry D. Whitney was a grandson of Joel & Mary, and there are several unidentified children. I have to run, but I'll take another look at this tomorrow.
