Minor M. Whitney, parentage unknown, was born say 1795, NY, and died between 1840 and 1850, probably Amite Co., MS.
He married, firstly, 28 Dec 1825, Amite Co., MS, Penelope Lowry.[1] She was born circa 1802, and died 16 Aug 1834, Liberty, Amite Co., MS.[2]
He married, secondly, after 1834, probably Amite Co., MS, Sophia -----. She was born circa 1817, Amite Co., MS, and died after 1860. She married, secondly, James R. Aumock.
In Mar 1833 he was appointed a commissioner for the estate of Orain Hicks.[3]
On 28 Mar 1835, he was listed as a Ranger in Amite Co., MS.[4]
Possible children of Minor M. and Penelope (Lowry) Whitney (relationship not yet ascertained, perhaps a daughter-in-law):
