Solomon8 Whitney (David7, Silas6, David5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of David7 and Sarah (Wilson) Whitney, was born 3 Jan 1795, Clarendon, VT, and died 21 Mar 1840, Highgate Springs, VT.
He married, 15 Jan 1822, Besheba Clow. She was born 1 Sep 1793, and died 26 Jun 1854.
He resided Highgate Springs, VT.
Children of Solomon8 and Besheba (Clow) Whitney:
i. Roderick B.9 Whitney, b. 28 Sep 1825; m. and resided Highgate Center, VT; left a son Phillip, whose widow resided Highgate Center. ii. Stephen S. Whitney, b. 23 Oct 1827; d. 8 May 1866. iii. James D. Whitney, b. 25 Nov 1829; d. 24 Oct 1844. iv. Andrew C. Whitney, b. 11 Aug 1833; m. Mary G. Todd. v. Giles E. Whitney, b. 4 Mar 1836; m. Adaline P. Davis. vi. Melvin R. Whitney, b. 10 Feb 1839; m. and resided Fort Dodge, IA. vii. Sarah A. Whitney, b. 19 Apr 1831; d. 12 May 1869.
