Lebbeus Whitney, parentage unknown, was born circa 1800, NY, and died after 1860, perhaps Jackson Co., MI.

He married Laura -----. She was born circa 1802 or 1809, NY, and died after 1860, perhaps Jackson Co., MI.

Lebbeus Whitney, who was said to be of Jackson County also when he patented forty acres in section 14 of Roxand Township in 1843. He was still in Roxand on the enumeration of 1850 - at which time both he and his wife were cited as natives of New York. They had no children. In 1860, the census taker found them back in Jackson County, Rives Township.[1]

ii. (probably) Alsina Whitney, b. 1834 or 1840, NY, and died after 1860. Her name may have been Eliza. She m. 1850, probably Eaton Co., MI, Hiram Thomas. He was b. ca. 1831, NY, and died after 1860.
