Francis Tufts6 Whitney (Joseph5, Benjamin4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Joseph5 and Rebecca (Stinchfield) Whitney, was born 24 Mar 1805, Phillips, ME, and died 6 Apr 1883, Huntington, UT.
He married firstly, 17 Feb 1827, Spears Landing, OH (also recorded Warren Co., OH), Abigail Blanchard, daughter of Stephen and Christiana (Penney) Blanchard. She was born 11 Jun 1808, and died 9 Dec 1878, OH. They were divorced in 1859, Shelby Co., OH.
He married secondly, 12 May 1850, Salt Lake City, UT, Clarissa Alger, daughter of Samuel and Clarrissa (Hancock) Alger. She was born 2 Jun 1830, Chagrin, Cuyahoga Co., OH, and died 20 Mar 1907, Parawan, Iron Co., UT.
He married thirdly, 10 Aug 1856 or 9 Oct 1862, Salt Lake City, UT, Harriot (Brookshaw) Watt, daughter of Samuel and Kitty (Andery) Brookshaw. She was born 11 Dec 1812, Dukinfield, Cheshire, England. She had married ----- Watt. She also married 30 Oct 1879, Salt Lake City, UT, Thomas Raffle. There is some question about the marriage dates here, since she is listed as widowed in the 1880 census, living with Thomas Raffle and wife Ann.
