Joel⁶ Whitney (Jonathan⁵, Jonathan⁴, Jonathan³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Jonathan⁵ and Esther (Parkhurst) Whitney, was born 13 Nov 1766, Conway, MA,^[1] and died 31 Jan 1825, Seneca Castle, NY.

He "of Township No. 10 of Ontario Co., N.Y." married 4 Dec 1790 or 6 Jan 1791, Conway, MA, Sybil Wetmore/Whitmore "of Conway",^[2] daughter of Oliver and Abigail (Hayden) Wetmore. She was born 21 Jun 1768, Torringford, CT, and died 11 May 1851, Seneca Castle, NY.

He was a well-to-do and respectable farmer and highly esteemed for his sterling integrity. He resided Conway, MA, and Seneca Castle, NY.
